What's in the Bottom Makes a Better Top

Fresh potting soil, ORGAplus® and annual flowers were put in these two
deck pots the spring of 2009.  In early fall, they were replanted with 1 large
purple aster in each pot, using the same soil, adding another application
of ORGAplus®.  By most standards, this soil would be considered tired
and need to be replaced.

In the spring of 2010, all old plant material was removed and the same soil
was loosened up a bit with a hand trowel.  In mid-May, each pot was
planted with a yellow marigold, a large begonia and a pink wave petunia
along with another application of ORGAplus®.  They have been watered
regularly.  The photos were taken July 6, 2010.

ORGAplus® definitely is a soil conditioner that improves with continued use.
Water and ORGAplus® are the only additions to sunlight that have
produced the beautiful and abundant flowers in the pots.  But it's the activity
going on in the bottom of the pot that is putting on the show above.  The
organic matter in the ORGAplus® is providing energy and nutrients for the
plants.  Bacteria, fungi and other organisms are working on the organic
matter to make nutrients available for use by the plants.  Each time
ORGAplus® is added to the soil, the plant absorbs the nutrients and the
composted matter is left behind to improve the soil structure.
